Summer Program

Boys & Girls Clubs Offers Summer Program to Local Youth

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley (BGCCV) is offering the “Rising to New Heights” summer learning program to give youth a safe place during their out-of-school time in the summer. Youth participating in the program will experience action packed activities that inspire creativity, build character, create a healthy lifestyle, and provide academic enrichment. The program is offered to children ages 6-18 years old. Programs are being offered at five club locations beginning Tuesday, May 28.

Forty-three million children in America are unable to experience summer learning programs causing learning deficits that take six weeks or more to repair where children must relearn old material. With more out-of-school time in the summer, learning loss and risky behaviors becomes a greater challenge. Only 16% of Georgia’s youth are able to attend summer learning programs while 300,000 are left alone during the summer. BGCCV creates a solution for this problem by offering programs that help the youth’s great future.

At $190 for current Boys & Girls Clubs members and $240 for non-members, our youth will engage in themed weeks like “All about the Arts," "Go Go Gadget,” “Airborne,” “Splash into Summer,” and so much more. Participants will interact with other youth and club professionals to develop confidence and a positive self-image while reaching their full potential. Teens participate in the summer program at no cost. Also, the partnership between the Joint Military Services and Boys & Girls Clubs of America, “Mission Youth Outreach,” is giving all active military families a $200 voucher towards summer registration fees (while supplies last).
