Upatoi Polo Cup
The Upatoi Polo Cup is an annual polo tournament whose consolation and championship matches are played for the benefit of the Boys & Girls Club.  The UPC is a fun event for the entire family to enjoy. Thewre is an area just for children with hot dogs, ice cream, face painting and space walks, and there is a silent auction for parents and lots of live music for entertainment throughout the day.  Next year’s event is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, 2009.

"It Just Takes One Campaign"
In January 2009, The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley is kicking off the annual campaign named It Just Takes One.  The campaign is an annual systematic effort driven by the board of directors and supported by staff to secure unrestricted gifts from individual donors with an emphasis on face-to-face solicitation.  Previously, the campaign was called Back A Youth.

The campaign will raise funds for the Clubs' after-school programs and services for youth ages 6-18, living in Columbus.  Scheduled to run through June 30, 2008, the campaign seeks donations primarily from individuals.  The campaign's goal for 2009 is to raise $200,000 for the Clubs' annual operating budget.

Funds raised will help sponsor kids to attend our summer program and provide quality after school programs such as the Power Hour homework help program, computer skills training, career exploration, arts & crafts, fitness and sports, and character and leadership programs such as SMART Moves and Youth of the Year.

To make an investment in the lives of our members, please contact Katie Beaudin, Director of Development, at 706-596-9330.

Blanchard, CEO Synovus and Representative Thomas B. Buck, III served as honorary host. The event was a huge draw for the community and a financial success for our clubs!
